Studies Conclude. . .

In 2009, a study funded by the National Institutes of Health involving Low-T treatments was halted because researchers noted high risk of heart attack with the use of Low-T treatments. The study involved 200 men with a high prevalence of heart disease. The men who received testosterone therapy had a significant spike in the rate of heart attacks as compared to those men not receiving testosterone therapy.

In November 2013, the Journal of the American Medical Association published a study which found that certain men may be 29% more likely to suffer heart attack, stroke or die while on testosterone therapy.

In January 2014, medical journal PLoS One published a study which concluded that men on Low T treatments, over the age of 65 and younger men with pre-existing heart disease could be two times more likely to suffer heart attacks than men not on Low-T treatment.

The FDA is Investigating Low-T Products!

On January 31, 2014, the FDA announced it would investigate the risk of heart attack, stroke and blood clots in men using prescription Low-T products. At that time the FDA recommended that while patients should not stop using these products without talking to their doctors, doctors should consider whether the benefits of the Low-T treatments outweigh the risk. The FDA determined its need to review the safety of the products after reviewing studies published in the Journal of the American Medical Association and the medical journal PLoS One.
