Fixodent Lawsuit Attorneys

Many know the tagline “Fixodent, and forget it.” But today, some cannot forget the one word they wish Fixodent had made clear on their packaging – Zinc – which for years the maker did not tell consumer was a part of its denture adhesive. When ingested in large amounts over time, zinc can lead to serious nerve damage.

Researchers at the University of Texas first discovered the connection when they found high zinc levels in the blood of denture users with neurological disease. Their study was completed in 2006, but publication was delayed for 2 years by peer review from a dentist who criticized the study. This dentist was later found to be a paid consultant to Proctor & Gamble, the maker of Fixodent.

In 2009, after the study was published in the journal Neurology, Proctor & Gamble finally added a label warning to Fixodent packages, cautioning “prolonged zinc intake may be linked to adverse health effects.”
