Types of Mesothelioma

We have represented clients who have not seen any symptoms or signs of mesothelioma until many years after their exposure. Warning signs of the damaging cancer may not be noticed for decades.

If you have ever been exposed to asbestos, you should seek expert medical examination immediately. Mesothelioma advances quickly, and production of cancerous cells is typically rapid. Early detection and diagnosis is critical to getting the treatment you need to fight the cancer’s advancement.

At Goldenberg Heller & Antognoli, P.C., we hold manufacturers of asbestos and other responsible parties accountable for the unsafe asbestos exposure levels our clients have encountered. For more than 25 years, our attorneys have been representing victims nationwide from our Madison County office in Edwardsville, Illinois.

There are different kinds of mesothelioma that may have been caused by asbestos exposure, but the symptoms and warning signs are different for each:

Pleural Mesothelioma

The most common type of mesothelioma, pleural mesothelioma is a cancer of the pleural membrane surrounding the lungs and chest cavity.

Peritoneal Mesothelioma

Another common form, peritoneal mesothelioma is a cancer of the peritoneal membrane surrounding many abdominal organs.

Pericardial Mesothelioma

A rarer form, pericardial mesothelioma is a cancer of the membrane surrounding the heart and is much more difficult to diagnose.
